![]() There’s also a ‘clutter-free’ version but I found that lacking so I rarely use that. The Devonthink clipper often clips cookie permission pop-ups so you might have to click them away when viewing your clipped content. You’ll see it looks identical to the web browser’s version. This is how the web clip looks like on Devonthink as ‘html’.Clicking ‘Open Link’ will take you to the Devonthink app, where another pop-up will allow you to select what type of web clip you want, the location to clip to, and to add tags and notes.Clicking on the Devonthink webclipper displays this pop-up on the browser.Devonthink does provide a different set of options for clipping though (refer to Screenshot 2 to view these options)īelow I’ll share 3 screenshots of how the clipping process is like on Devonthink, where I attempted to clip the reddit page we’re on. It doesn't have the same bells and whistles as the one on EN, so if you enjoy the EN clipping options like 'simplified article, 'full page' etc, you might miss the EN one. Clipping a page as html displays the page almost identically to what you see on your browser. I always look forward to the regular Craft updates. On the Plus side, they are an exciting app to support because they are pretty diligent about releasing new features. For this reason, I only use it to craft articles when I have the luxury of time to consciously tweak things, and it is unsuitable for quick notetaking. ![]() For me at least, it often behaves unpredictably and copy/paste the wrong things or at the wrong location. Their ‘note blocks’ system can be quite clunky when you have to quickly copy, select, paste a line of text. There are some github solutions for this but these solutions require first converting your Evernote notes to markdown, and that messes up much of the formatting of my notes. Reasons why Craft doesn't (yet) replace Evernote for me: I also use Craft whenever I would like to tweak certain articles to make them beautiful and presentable, add links and connections etc. I sync my TickTick Calendar and tasks with Craft and every day I create a new Daily Note in Craft with a toggle list of to-dos, books/articles to read, list of things to be thankful for. Most things I used to do with Evernote I now do using Devonthink.Ĭraft, on the other hand, I use them for functions that Devonthink doesn't do as elegantly, such as the Daily Notes feature. Perhaps in a few years it might catch up with the features I need, although the devs have made it clear that they are not trying to be a replacement for notetaking apps. ![]() However, it wasn't able to replace what Evernote Legacy was for me though I really wanted it to. I love Craft too and have a Pro account there. You can find more information on smart rules in the DEVONthink manual or built-in Help.It really depends on how you use Evernote. Of course, if you routinely need to do these specific actions you may want to look at using smart rules. Now you know how to make some quick ad-hoc changes without having to manually change each document.
